Hello, friend! Hope you’ve had a great week! We headed out for a country drive this weekend, and it was glorious. The sense of peace when you leave the city and see a cow or two chilling by the side of the road - is unmatched. Go see a cow - 10/10 recommend.
Fishbird Catch of the Week
We post twice a week on Fishbird Central. This week’s catch included:
Partners in Crime - Celebrate Your Bookish Relationship!
Do you have a book lover in your life? This bookworm could be your significant other, your best friend, or even that neighbour you see every Tuesday that keeps talking about the Bridgerton series and how it’s better than the TV version. In this post we celebrate your bookish partner in crime with 7 thrilling reads to add to your TBR!

Monarto Zoo - South Australia!
If there’s one thing that I’m determined to do in this life, it’s to visit every animal attraction out there. This is a big task as there are a surprising number of zoos and critters to see. In March this year we went to the Monarto Safari Park in South Australia. It was great! Check out this post to see some of the characters you might meet!

Mawwige is whut bwings us togevveh today.
This week, I celebrated 25 years with my best friend and husband (they’re the same person btw). The equivalent of a quarter chicken and chips in the Woolies lunch special of life. It’s rotisserie romance, and I’m here for it.
From broke students, to world travellers - long-haired hippies to long-term government employees. From road trips to roast dinners, laughter and literature - we’ve had some stellar times and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
To have someone riding shotgun with you through all your adult life portions - is both amazing and bizarre. You each know where all the bones are buried, the origin story of every joke, and have seen behind the curtain of the many variations of character development over the years. There’s no hiding your weird after 25 years.
Anyone who’s been in a long-term relationship knows that it’s never all roses all the time. Humans make mistakes and fall down a lot. If you’re lucky though, you grow together and have enough stored humour to laugh through the grey days. Arguments are won and lost and forgotten, but the team song keeps playing in the background.
Love will find a way, as Richard Attenborough taught us.
Anyway, enough of that. Here’s a photo of us in our lifeguard era. We’re pretty hot.
Quick Fire Wrap Up
Currently Reading: ‘B is for Burglar’ by Sue Grafton. This is Book 2 in the Kinsey Millhone series. With her reputation and career on the line, Kinsey risks all to find a missing woman and a killer who's waiting in the shadows to strike again.
Currently Watching: I’ve started an A-Z movie bingo - because I can’t do anything in a normal way. So far I’ve seen ‘Asteroid City’ (Yay!); ‘Barbie’ (Boo!); ‘Cruella’ (Yay!); and am in the middle of ‘Dungeons & Dragons’.
Currently Wondering: If we’ve eaten all the oven dinner rolls from our local Woolies, or if it’s just a coincidence that they’re out for the first time in living memory. Love those rolls.
Wishes for the Week
Wishing you a wonderful week ahead, friend!
Hug someone you love, or tell that special someone how you feel. Even if it makes it weird.
Stay cool, punks.
‘Love is waiting for your other-half to wake up so you can eat some eggs.’ - Julia Roberts (probably)
